IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Wesley
Randolph, Jr.
May 17, 1968 – July 15, 2020
John Wesley Randolph Jr. was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 17, 1968, to his loving parents, Georgia Jean Randolph and John W. Randolph Sr. John transitioned from time to eternity on Wednesday evening, July 15, 2020, at Doctor's Hospital, Augusta, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; grandmothers, Bertha Watson (Granny), Alma Jean Watson (Mama Jean), and Dosea Scott (Madea); grandfather, Reverend Eugene Watson (Granddaddy); a special cousin, Quincy T. Ward Sr.; and his loving aunt, Margaret Wilson.
John loved the Lord, and that was evident through his singing about his faith whenever he had the opportunity. As a young boy, he would practice preaching, and it was not uncommon for him to sing solos in the church. Better know as JonJon as a little boy, John sang in the church choir and was often called upon to sing at special events throughout his life. In 2012, John joined Greater St. James AME Church where he became the Sunday School teacher for the Young Adult Male Class, President of the Sons of Allen, and a member of the Male Choir and Sanctuary Choir.
John attended St. Agnes grade school, Milwaukee Technical and Trade High School. In college, he was known as Big Wes and attended Mississippi Valley College. He also became a Master Mason with J. H. Lodge 709 in Itta Bena, Mississippi. He transferred to and graduated from Kentucky State University with a degree in Education. After graduating, he taught in elementary school and junior high school. He continued his education, earning a Master Degree in Instructional Technology from Cambridge University.
Affectionately known as JonJon, Wessy, Big Wes, Bank44, Coach Randolph and Bubba, he enjoyed all sports. He played softball, bowled (once bowling a perfect game in a tournament), and was an avid fisherman. Later in his career, he coached basketball and became the school Athletic Director. Coach Randolph led the Murphey Middle Lady Mavericks to be the 2017-2018 August Middle School Champions.
John united in holy matrimony to Sandy Simmons on April 28, 2012, which also brought together a blended family, which included five children.
Wessy loved his family and made it a habit of always checking in with family, even during the pandemic it was not uncommon for him to join family Zoom calls to make sure family was doing well. He treasured quality time with his grandchildren and was the life of the party, living life to the fullest. He will be missed for his hearty laugh, soothing melodic voice, and his words of encouragement.
John leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Sandy Randolph; five children, Aysia and Andre Randolph of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dana Jones (Cedric) of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, Robin Pringle of Cross, South Carolina and Paris Pringle of Augusta, Georgia; two sisters, Alisha Davis (Brainard) of Atlanta, Georgia and Danielle Randolph of Memphis, Tennessee; three brothers, Kevin Randolph (Summer) of Moreno Valley, California, Mark Barnes of Atlanta, Georgia and Terrance Barnes of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; parents-in-love, Curlin and Virginia Simmons of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; brothers-in-love, Curlin Fritz Simmons Jr. (Cynthia), Tony Simmons (Sylvia) and Donnie Simmons (Teresa) of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; grandchildren, Zayden Reid, Airon Jones, Trinity Jones, Alayah Johnson, Kennedi Pringle and Andre Randolph Jr.; John leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss his jovial personality and love for life.
