Johnnie Freeman was born on June 6, 1923 in Bonneau, South Carolina, a son of the late Landon Freeman and Irene Thompson Freeman. He departed this life on Monday, April 29, 2013 at Brandon Regional Hospital, Brandon, Florida. Johnnie attended the public schools of Berkeley County. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where he served in many capacities. Johnnie loved to fish and hunt. He also loved tinkering with automobiles. Johnnie was employed with the Naval Weapons Station for numerous years, working in the post office. Those left to mourn his passing: his daughter, Pamelia Denson (Julius, Sr.); two grandchildren, Julius Denson, II (Benea) and Brooklyn Denson; two great-grandchildren, Julius Denson, III and Jace Denson; three sisters-in-law, Rebecca Middleton, Edna Thompson and Janey Middleton; one brother-in-law, Samuel Middleton; a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
