Obituary

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.                                                                 - Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

On November 13, 1979, a precious little girl was born to Jonathan and Betty Copeland. They would call her Jolitta. She answered the call and transitioned from earth to eternity on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at 12:31 p.m., at the Orangeburg Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Jolitta, affectionately known to her family and friends as "Jola", received her education in the public schools of Berkeley County, SC. She was a graduate of Berkeley High School Class of 1998. She continued her education at Benedict College, Columbia, SC in Business Administration.

Jola had a heart of gold. If there was a need, she would to the best of her ability, try to fill it, and never wanting but love in return. She was the Auntie/Mom to DaQuan, Micah, Jasmine, and R'Ryanna; she loved them unconditionally.

Jola accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Mitten Lane Holiness Church. There, she served the church working as a Youth and Adult Usher and participating with the Youth Choir. She was also actively involved in the Youth Ministry of the church.

Jola had a love and passion for cooking. She made many delicious meals for her church family and friends. Her favorite meals to cook for the church were the punch bowl cake, macaroni and cheese, seafood salad and chili. These memories will last forever in the hearts of those she fed.

In addition to her passion for cooking, Jola's other hobbies were: spending time with her favorite nieces and nephews encouraging them to to the right thing to have a long life; going shopping; calling on her social media friends; and taking pictures.

Jola was preceded in death by: her parents, Jonathan and Betty Copeland; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Sarah Copeland; maternal grandparents, Luther and Josephine Fludd.

Loving and fond memories will always be treasured by: her sister, Latoya Howell of the home; brother, Kelvin (Andrea) Moore of Orangeburg, SC; special nieces and nephews, DaQuan, Micah, Jasmine and R'Ryanna of the home; Goddaughter, Jeaphia White; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Goodbye Jola…your memories will always be a Blessing to all of us!
