Jonathan Copeland, known to many as "Joe", was born May 12, 1948 in Moncks Corner, SC. He was the son of Sarah Brown Copeland and the late Joseph "Joe" Copeland, Jr. Jonathan answered God's call and entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at home.

Jonathan attended the public schools of Berkeley County and graduated from Berkeley Training High School in 1968. He enlisted and served in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge from the military, Joe became a professional Paint and Body specialist for over 40 years. He was employed at AJ Fulford and Jessup and Son, as he took care of his family.

Jonathan was united in Holy Matrimony to Betty Fludd Copeland. He was blessed with three children whom he loved very much.

Jonathan was a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan to the very end. He liked being outdoors: gardening, mowing the lawn, and riding his John Deere. Joe enjoyed listening to the music of James Brown and Michael Jackson. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed quiet evenings sitting on the porch.

Joe was a person who was upfront and very honest with people. He was straightforward and very direct, but he was also extremely generous. He welcomed you with open arms and brought joy to many.

Jonathan leaves to cherish his memory: his loving devoted wife of 40 years, Betty Copeland of the home; daughters, Joletha Copeland and Latoya Copeland Howell of Moncks Corner, SC; son, Kelvin Moore (Andrea) of Orangeburg, SC; mother, Sarah Brown Copeland of Moncks Corner, SC; grandchildren, Daquan, Micah, Jasmine Howell and R'Ryanna Bishop; sisters, Loretta Copeland Amos (Pinkey) of Philadelphia, PA and Beverly White of Moncks Corner, SC; brothers, David Copeland, Sr. (Patricia) and Michael Reid (Denise) of Moncks Corner, SC; a very special nephew, Troy Copeland (Belma); godmother, Thomasina Fennick; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his father, Joseph "Joe" Copeland, Jr.
