Joseph McClennon, Jr., affectionately known as Joe Jr., was born in St. Stephen, South Carolina on April 10, 1939. He was the son of the late Mr. Joseph and Mrs. Bertha Myers McClennon. He departed this earthly home on June 23, 2012, at Harvest Health & Rehab of Johns Island nursing facility, Johns Island, SC. Joe Jr. was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County, SC. At an early age, he attended the former St. Paul United Methodist Church. During his later years, he joined God's True Deliverance Church, North Charleston, SC. Joe Jr. was a farmer until he was placed in residential care for about forty years. He was a resident at Fair Haven Manor, Bell's Professional Residential Home Care and finally Harvest Health. Two sisters, Ida Lee Punter and Anna Dell Hervey, preceded him in death. He leaves warm and precious memories to his two sisters, Deloris (Thomas) Jiles and Carlee McClennon; brothers-in-law, Constance Punter and Perry Hervey, Jr. all of Boston, MA; a special niece, Pamela Hervey of Boston, MA; cousin, Reverend Melvin (Mary) McClennon of St. Stephen, SC; three nephews, eight nieces, nine grandnephews, fifteen grandnieces, and a host of relatives and friends.
