On Friday, May 19, 2017, God called His servant Joyce L. Addison from her labor to reward.

Joyce, the daughter of the late Joseph and Emily Lefft, was born November 14, 1939, in Berkeley County, South Carolina. She attended Russellville High School, where she was a cheerleader and participated in other student activities before graduating in 1958.  After high school, Joyce lived in New York City, NY and Philadelphia, PA. She was united in Holy Matrimony to John Addison for 53 years.  She returned to South Carolina in 1972.

Joyce worked at home for a number of years and raised three children. She then began working full time for the Head Start Program in Moncks Corner. Later, she held various positions, including teacher assistant, within the Berkeley County School District.

She enjoyed gardening, visiting friends, attending social functions, singing, having a good laugh, and taking road trips.  She lived for the church, loved others, cherished children and azaleas; and just like a honey bee, she was remembered fondly as "Bea".

Joyce leaves to cherish her memory, three children: Spencer Addison of Charleston, SC, Vicky Addison of West Palm Beach, FL and Craig (Sharon) Addison of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Gladys L. Boone (Rev. John) and Leila L. Cooper; four grandchildren: Jordan (Dylan) Hudson, Jared, Emily, and Erin Addison; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
