Obituary

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die" - Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 Junior Vance, affectionately known as "Artie", son of the late Levi Vance and Josephine Gillard Vance, the last survivor of nine children, was born on January 29, 1927 in Eadytown, South Carolina. He accepted Christ at an early age as his personal savior and was baptized and became a member of St. Stephen Baptist Church under the pastoral charge of Rev. Fortune C. Haskell, Senior. On Monday, March 12, 2012 at 7:50 p.m., it is imagined that God softly spoke these words, "Servant of God Well Done, thou has been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things; enter into the joy of thy Lord." Then he went to be with the Lord. Among those who will cherish loving memories of him are: special cousins and caregivers, Harold and Margaret Bowens of St. Stephen, SC; two nephews, Donnie Governor of New York and Kevin Moore of Arizona; one niece, Karen Moore of New York; a very special friend, Rev. David Addison; a host of adopted nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the Staff and Management of Lake Moultrie Nursing Home and Hospice Odyssey of Charleston, SC.
