Today we celebrate the home-going of Kevin Armstrong, a loving husband, father, son, brother and a friend to many. He was the youngest son of the late Mr. Norman Armstrong and Mrs. Eleanor "Shirley" Brown Armstrong. He was born on September 10, 1970 in Newark, New Jersey. Kevin transitioned from his earthly dwelling to his heavenly home on April 1, 2009 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Upon relocating to Moncks Corner, South Carolina at the age of six, Kevin attended the public schools of Berkeley County, graduating from Berkeley High School in June 1988. As a child, he attended Nazareth Reformed Episcopal Church, Moncks Corner, South Carolina. He was employed by Cooper River Construction Company where he worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for ten years. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Laura G. Harrelson on September 19, 2008. He was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Destiny Marie Armstrong and Kenyetta Monay Armstrong from his previous marriage. Kevin was a fun and loving person. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone that he could. Some of his favorite hobbies included: fishing, cooking on the grill and building projects. Kevin was very creative. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: a devoted and loving wife, Laura H. Armstrong; his mother, Eleanor "Shirley" Armstrong of Moncks Corner, SC; two daughters, Destiny Marie Armstrong and Kenyetta Monay Armstrong both of Moncks Corner, SC; a brother, Apostle Norman Armstrong, Jr. of Moncks Corner, SC; two sisters, Cecelia Rivers and Carmen Rivers both of Newark, NJ; his grandmother, Louise Hammond of Moncks Corner, SC; his best friend and brother, Antonio Doiley of Moncks Corner, SC; his father and mother-in-law, Ricky and Katherine Brooks; two sisters-in-law, Michelle Long and Kimberly Brooks; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
