With heartfelt sorrow and sincere sympathy, we announce the passing of Mr. Kevin Woods of Sumter, South Carolina, formerly of St. Stephen, South Carolina, who entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
Kevin was a hardworking and dedicated businessman, the proud owner of Bigg Dogg Towing & Transport. He was known for his strong work ethic and his willingness to help others whenever he could. Outside of work, Kevin had a passion for race cars and drag racing. He was also an avid football fan, faithfully cheering on both the Baltimore Ravens and the Dallas Cowboys.
His family was his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He was a Mason of the Jefferson Grant Masonic Lodge and a committed member of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, where his faith and fellowship were important parts of his life.
Kevin leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving wife, Valeria Woods; children, Darius Woods, Jasmine Woods, Arsenio Maple (Sheila), and Raven Williams; his beloved grandchildren; siblings, Harold Mitchum, Timmy Mitchum, and Tracy Mitchum; aunts, Eartha L. Middleton Dingle and Maxine Bowens; uncle, Joe Middleton; along with a host of other relatives and dear friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. The Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 272 Church Road, St. Stephen, SC. There will be no viewing after the service. Interment will follow in H & L Middleton Memorial Garden, St. Stephen, SC.
For those unable to attend, the service will be live streamed on the funeral home’s Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/gethersfh
During this season of grief, we gently and humbly ask that you keep the Woods family lifted in prayer. May you surround them with love, encouragement, and unwavering support as they navigate the days ahead. May God’s peace comfort their hearts and strengthen them now and in the days to come.
