Lasonia Goodman was born on December 29, 1980 in Charleston, SC, a daughter of  Jerome Goodman, Sr. and Mary Branch Goodman. After a two year battle with breast cancer, upon God's infinite wisdom, He reached out His hands and took His daughter home on Sunday, October 27, 2019.

Lasonia received her education in the Berkeley County School System. She later attended Miller Motte and Centura Colleges. She received her degree as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She began her career at Trident Hospital. She later worked at Iqor in customer service and at DAK America as a machine operator until her illness.

Lasonia was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Episcopal Church, Alvin, SC.

Lasonia, known by some as "Sunny", was very loving, joyful and witty. She had a stubbornness about her that was hilarious. If she said it; "so be it", until she changed her own mind or calmed down. Her family and friends loved being around her for the fun and laughter that she gave. During her illness, she gained and communicated with many friends through Facebook and everyone knew that she would be posting something that would capture your attention.

Lasoni a 's main phrase was, "I'm feeling so bad and this pain is awful, but I know one thing, Jesus got me." She stood firm with her love and trust in Jesus.

Lasonia's driving force was her daughter, Lakaysha or as she called her "Kaysha" and her sister, Felicia.

Lasonia leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Lakaysha Dawson; siblings, Felicia Goodman, Deelanda Goodman and Betty Shaw; fiancé, Cameron Brown; very special cousins, Tyra Goodman, Valita Goodman and Esau Branch, Jr.; very special aunt, Evelyn Harmon; nephews, Tevin, Alton, Amaris, Avien and Marvell; nieces, Teviya, Tamayra and Tazaria; a host of uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Lazinia Goodman; and brother, Jerome Goodman, Jr.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., at Emanuel Reformed Episcopal Church, 1718 Santee River Road, Alvin, SC. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home (Moncks Corner facility).
