Obituary

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

- Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV

A Time to be Born

Latash Matice Williams was born December 4, 1974, in Charleston, South Carolina to Aaron Banks and Deborah Williams. Latash was the sibling of three sisters, Trenise Williams, Jacqueline Starkes, Kimberly Glover and her baby brother James Gerald Pinckney Jr.

A Time to LIVE

Latash was educated in the Charleston County School District and graduated from R.B. Stall High School in 1993. She enlisted in the United States Army after high school. Latash later earned her Associate degree in Medical Billing from Strayer University. She was employed by AmeriHealth Caritas and served diligently.

At an early age, Latash met her life partner John Collier Sumpter and birthed, nurtured and loved two beautiful loving and caring daughters, Jhn á and Jon-Niya. She also help to raise and spoil her goddaughter Desaree.

Latash selflessly gave to others with no limits, wanting nothing in return. Her girls were her everything, and she always wanted them to enjoy the finer and best things life had to offer.

Latash possessed a spirit of encouragement, and she enjoyed speaking life and discipline into the younger generation. Her ambiguous words of wisdom enlightened and prevented them from wrong doing.

Latash loved to travel and experience new places and different foods. She enjoyed 5 star dining and the best of hotels while traveling.

Latash loved her Lord and Savior, and she enjoyed her Gospel music.

A Time to DIE

Latash was preceded in death by her spouse John and mother Deborah. She earned her heavenly wings on April 30, 2023, while surrounded by her family.

A Time to MOURN

Latash leaves to cherish her loving and wonderful memories: her daughters, Jhn á and Jon-Niya and goddaughter Desaree; her father Aaron Banks (Albertha); her sisters, Trenise Williams, Jacqueline Starkes (Andre), Kimberly Glover and baby brother James Gerald Pinckney Jr. (Laquinta); two brothers-in-law, Reginald Joyner (Sandra) and Jamal Sumpter; one sister-in-law, Felicia Sumpter; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, as well as co-workers from AmeriHealth Caritas.
