IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Laura Gail
Holman Poku
April 27, 1955 – April 24, 2019
Laura Gail Holman Poku, affectionately known as "Bummy", was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lela Frazier Holman. She was born on April 27, 1955, in Moncks Corner, SC. She went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2019, in Charleston, SC.
Gail was raised in Moncks Corner with her family and attended Berkeley Training High School. As a teenager, she relocated to New York City, NY. She returned to the Charleston, SC area in 1995.
Gail was employed as a nursing assistant and a truck driver.
Gail was united in Holy Matrimony to Alonzo Watery. She was a loving mother of four boys. One son, Preston, preceded her in death.
Gail enjoyed talking about her "three boys", Brian, Kyle "TooToo", and Jermaine. Her hobbies included: driving, music, watching western shows, and solving crossword puzzles.
Later in life, she attended worship services at The Church House of Ministries World Wide, Ladson, SC. Praise God that she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. During her illness, she would often say, "I am in God's hands now."
She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted husband, Alonzo Watery of New York City, NY; three sons, Brian Holman (Michelle) of Moncks Corner, SC, Kyle "TooToo" Holman, and Jermaine Holman both of North Charleston, SC; four sisters, Elnora "Tate" Marion of Moncks Corner, SC, Sharon Bouyagui of North Charleston, SC, Karen H. Jorden (John) of Goose Creek, SC and Kristi Johnson (Darryl) of Summerville, SC; one brother, Sheridan Limehouse of Moncks Corner, SC; grandchildren, Jasmine, Lakeshia, Branden, Oneca, Malaeza, Cordel and Serenity; great-grandchildren, Noah, Jordan and Paisley; two aunts, Elizabeth Frazier and Alonia Frazier both of Moncks Corner, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
