Minister Robert Lee Brown, Sr.

Minister Robert Brown, Sr. was born on Tuesday, May 30, 1950, in Berkeley County, SC to the late Clarence Brown, Sr. and the late Sadie Lloyd Brown. Robert answered God's call surrounded in love by his immediate family and entered unto his eternal rest on Saturday, October 1, 2022.
Robert was educated in the Berkeley County School System and upon graduation, he joined the United States Navy in 1969 and served until his honorable discharge. He went on to enjoy a career in Warehouse Management/Supply Chain/Logistics until his retirement in 2008.
Robert accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and became a member of Cordesville United Methodist Church where he served as a faithful member in several different leadership roles, including his years of service as Finance Chair. He was certified as a Lay Speaker in 2005 and welcomed each opportunity to preach the Gospel and spread the message of Salvation.
Robert was united in holy matrimony to Alfate Meadows on July 8, 1972 and were blessed with 50 years of marriage. To this union, three daughters and one son were reared in a home filled with love, kindness, encouragement, and compassion.
Robert was an avid fisherman and boater, a superb cook, and a competitive game player with his brother and sons-in-law. Robert truly enjoyed time spent with family and friends, and his memory will forever live in the hearts of the many lives he touched.
Robert leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Alfate Meadows Brown, of Summerville South Carolina; four children, Elder Shantae Brown (Shawn) Crawford, of North Charleston, SC, Rockal Brown (Christopher) Archie, of Charlotte, NC, Rhonda Brown (Kevin) Massey of Summerville, SC and Robert Brown, Jr. of Charleston, SC; six grandchildren, Yahseim, Brisean, Adaija, Sydney, Amir and Allana; and one great-grandchild, Kaylen; two sisters, Elder Anna B. (Bishop Samuel) Gibbs of Cordesville, SC, and Overseer Herlene B. (James - deceased) Wright of Charleston, SC; one brother, Clarence (Lisa) Brown of Moncks Corner, SC; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Two sisters, Martha Anne Brown and Thelma Williams, and four brothers, Leroy Brown, Lemuel Brown, Matthew Brown and James Brown preceded Robert in death.
Viewing will be held Friday, October 7, 2022, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Face masks are required. The Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022, 1:00 p.m., at Grace Reformed Episcopal Church, 401 Stoney Landing Road, Moncks Corner, SC, with viewing from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. There will be no viewing after the service. Interment will be in Cordesville United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1400 Doctor Evans Road, Moncks Corner, SC.
