It is with heartfelt sympathy that we announce the passing of Mrs. Leila Lefft Cooper of Marion, Illinois, formerly of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, who entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. She was the widow of the late Mr. Samuel “SJ” Cooper, Jr.

Mrs. Cooper was a woman of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. She found her greatest joy in those she held dear, and her presence brought comfort, wisdom, and warmth to all who knew her. Family was truly at the heart of her life.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children: Harold Jones (Sheila), Valerie Ajuonuma (Christopher), and Harvey Jones (Michelle); along with her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date.
