Lillian Smalls Garnett was born on February 19, 1941, in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Mrs. Albertha Brown of Eastover, SC and raised by the late Mrs. Rebecca M. Smalls and Mr. Arthur P. Smalls of Moncks Corner, SC.  She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Joseph Garnett, Sr. on March 7, 1960.

Lillian graduated from Berkeley Training High School in 1959. She also attended Trident Technical College where she received a certificate in Floral Design. Her hobbies were baking fruit cakes and designing beautiful floral arrangements.  She was the co-owner of Garnett Floral and Boutique Shop and Garnett Mobile Home Park.

At an early age, she joined Solomon Temple United Methodist Church in Moncks Corner, SC.  She later became a member of Bethlehem Reformed Episcopal Church where she served as the Building Fund secretary for many years.  She also served on the choir, vestry board, and many other organizations.

Lillian departed this life on July 15, 2023, at her home.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband, Mr. Joseph Garnett, Sr.; children, Jametta L. Garnett, Naomi D. Garnett, Joseph Garnett, Jr. (Susan); grandchildren, Jaren Garnett and Devon Garnett (Alyssa); sister, Mrs. Selina Corley; caretaker, Mary Rivers; Goddaughter, Mi'Liker U. Shine; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Kevin L. Garnett, two sisters, and three brothers.

A Home Going Service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at Bethlehem Reformed Episcopal Church, 1731 Old Highway 52, Moncks Corner, SC. Interment will be in the church's cemetery. Viewing will be held Friday, July 21, 2023, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
