On August 27, 1938, Lillian Dupree was born in Charleston County, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Walter and Mary Snider Dupree. Lillian received her formal education in the Charleston County School System. She worked in the Jamestown community, namely, the Santee River Wool Company and the Spinning Plant where she was the lead person for many years. Lillian was also employed at Short Stay Recreational Center, Moncks Corner, until her health started to decline. Lillian attended church in the McClellanville community. She later became a full member of New Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church on October 8, 1990. The 23rd Psalm was her favorite scripture. At a young age, Lillian met and married George Myers, Sr. This union was blessed with eight children; one son, Rodney Jerome Myers, preceded her in death. Lillian enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On June 9, 2011, God called one of His angels, Lillian D. Myers, into eternal rest. She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her loving husband of 53 years, George Myers, Sr.; loving children, Rose Rhames, George (Geneva) Myers, Jr., Karen Heyward, Loria Nole, Earvin (Patricia) Myers, James Myers, Sr. and Sharon Greene; two brothers, Robert (Annette) Dupree and Jimmy Dupree; sister, Mable (Lee) Bozier; brother-in-law, Rollin (Laura) Myers; sister-in-law, Mable Myers; 22 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren; special friends, Ms. Jeanette Reid and Ms. Daisy Mazyck; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends far and near.
