Linda S. Gathers was born on February 24, 1950 in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late William and Lucy Albanese. She departed this life on July 26, 2014 in Charleston, South Carolina. She received her education in the Public School System of Boston, MA and furthered her education by graduating with a Master's Degree in Nursing from Northeastern University, Boston, MA. She worked faithfully as a Nurse Practitioner at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Greenery Nursing Home. As evidenced by the profession she was divinely appointed, Linda loved people. She had a humble and gentle spirit that helped her in her calling to serve others. She was wed in Holy Matrimony to Leon Gathers on February 10, 1979. They were married for 35 years. She accepted Christ 20 years ago after leaving the Catholic Church and was born again while attending New Cornerstone Baptist Church in Boston, MA under the leadership of Bishop Jackson. There she was an usher and performed secretarial duties. In 2002, she and her husband relocated to South Carolina. Here she joined Christianity Holiness Church, Moncks Corner, SC. During this time, she faithfully served under the leadership of Apostle George Yeadon, as Secretary and Church Administrator. In 2010 she became a member of Heart to Heart International Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Jerome and Pastor Tonia Aiken Taylor, where she attended faithfully until her death. One thing is certain; Linda loved the word of God and God's people. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elaine Montaya; brother, John Albanese; and brother-in-law, William Melchin. Left to cherish her memories are: her husband, Leon Gathers; daughter, Naomi Brown; son, Leon (Denise) Gathers; grandchildren, Sacharis Gathers, Mason Gathers, Leo Gathers, Dennis Gathers, Michael Leon Haynes and Maria Haynes; her siblings, Angela Melchin, Edith Albanese, Michael Albanese, William (Kathleen) Albanese; brothers-in-law, Joe Montoya, John Fred Lewis, J.C. Gathers, Edward Gathers and Marion Reaves; sisters-in-law, Holly Albanese and Virginia McFadden; and a host of special nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
