Obituary

Linda Loretta Hawkins Morgan, the daughter of the late Alton and Iva Bell Hawkins, Sr., was born June 17, 1954 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. On the evening of February 24, 2016, the Lord required another angel and called Linda home. She was preceded in death by a brother Arnold Hawkins.

Linda was reared in a Christian home with God fearing parents. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and became a member of Liberty Reformed Episcopal Church, Jamestown, SC and later Emanuel A.M.E. Church, Cordesville, SC. She transferred her membership to New Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, Jamestown, SC where she served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher, Usher and President of the Women in Action.

Linda received her education in the Berkeley County School District and was a 1972 graduate of Macedonia High School. She was a seamstress and tailored clothes for many. She retired from the Berkeley County Water and Sanitation Department in January 2016.

Linda met and married Nathaniel Morgan, Sr. Three children were born to this union.

Linda was a fun loving person. She made a friend everywhere she went. She possessed a talent of making people laugh. To know Linda was to love her and her family truly loved her. She will be greatly missed.

Linda leaves many to cherish her precious memories: three children, Nathaniel (Sarika) Morgan, Sona Nole and Steven Morgan; son-in-law, Albert Nole; grandchildren, Naheem Morgan and Trey Nole; four sisters: Ella Middleton, Pamela Hawkins, Sharon (Eddie) Mazyck and Lisa (Steffany) Beauford; two brothers, Alton (Wilhemena) Hawkins and Victor Hawkins; one sister-in-law, Freedonia Hawkins; two brothers-in-law, David Smith and Luther Smith; one aunt, Shirley Washington; one uncle, Calvin Beauford; special friends, Ruth Joyner and Gymetta Fludd; a special caregiver, Ann Brunson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
