Linda Ann Smith entered into this world on January 19, 1953 and on the morning of February 5, 2011, the Lord called her home to say, "Well done, thy great and faithful servant, well done." Linda was born to Wilhemina Smith and Willie J. Elder, whom both preceded her in death. She was the seventh child of thirteen, two of whom preceded her in death, Frank Webb and Robert "Doby" Jeridore. Linda was a graduate of Burke High School Class of 1971. She went on to earn a degree in Radiology from Trident Technical College. A very dedicated healthcare professional, Linda served many Charleston area patients over the course of her 35 years as a Radiologist Technician with a specialty in Angio. Linda built on the Christian training of her grandmother, the late Annabelle Washington. She dedicated her life to God's service by becoming a dedicated member of St. Phillip A.M.E. (Greater Middleton Chapel A.M.E.) where she for many years served as the financial secretary under the leadership of Reverend Ford. She also served as the Director of the Sunbeam Children's Choir and was a proud member of the Mass Choir and the Senior Choir. Linda leaves to cherish her loving memories: her children, LaTashia Hope Smith and Derrell Aaron Smith; her grandchildren, Netheus Davis and Noah Grant; her siblings, Earline Lambright, Patricia Dennis, Hadis Abdus-Samad, Richard Smith (Shirley) all of Charleston, SC; Craig Hines (Elnora), Arthur Hines, Willie J. Elder, Jr., Michael Elder (Angela), Joseph Elder and Angela Elder; special aunts, Helen Ford of Columbus, OH and Sinclair W. Brown of Charleston, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
