Mr. Louis "Tricky" Rivers, son David Rivers, Sr. and Rosalee Nesbitt Rivers, was born on December 26, 1948 in Cordesville, South Carolina. Louis peacefully transitioned from this life into eternal life with the Lord on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Roper Hospital, Charleston, South Carolina.

Louis received his education in the public schools of Berkeley County. He later joined Job Corp where he received a certificate in Masonry. He was employed at Westbury Concrete (Star-Redi Mix) as a truck driver for many years. Later he worked as an independent masonry contractor, and he was the best with his skills.

Louis was a member of Greater Emanuel A.M.E. Church.

Louis was united in Holy Matrimony to his former wife and beloved friend, Naomi Rivers.

Louis was a man of strength and love. He was loved by many because of his mild and humble spirit. He was full of life and always telling jokes with his family and friends. He was a hard worker and did not mind working. He will be remembered for his loving heart, infectious smile, and contagious laugh.

Louis' hobbies were fishing, gardening, and most of all enjoying time with his family. He would spend hours with his beloved grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish sweet memories: his children, Tonya Hazelton, Theresa Simmons (Theo), Eugenia Smalls and Deanna Rivers; siblings, David Rivers, Jr., Samuel Rivers (Janice), Herman Rivers (Charlena), Louise Vandross (Thomas), Barbara Major, William Rivers, Yvonne Rivers and Octavene Gray; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one uncle, Wilbert Nesbitt; three aunts, Frances Richardson, Vivian Gadsden and Hattie Nichols; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Rosalee Rivers and four brothers, Thomas, Wilbert, George and Levi Rivers.
