Lucille Gillard Smith, the fifth child of Matthew and Lillie Gillard, was born in Ridgeville, South Carolina of January 16, 1926. On July 29, 2008, the Lord called Lucille home. On April 1942, Lucille was joined in Holy Matrimony to Peter Smith, Sr. To this union six children were born: Lillian, Peter Jr., Oscar, Ethel, Earle and Evelyn. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband and son, Oscar. Lucille worked as a seamstress for seventeen years at Jos. Cohen. She was a firm believer in the institutions of her family and the church. She was a member of King Solomon Chapter #60, O.E.S.-P.H.A.-1985-86. Lucille leaves behind to mourn: her loving children, Lillian, Peter Jr., Ethel, Earle and Evelyn; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a sister, Ada Doctor; two sisters-in-law, Aster Gillard and Evelina Gillard; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. ************************************************************************ To send memorial messages or condolences, please click on "Sign the Guestbook."
