Mr. Lucius Alonza Hawkins, was born in Jamestown, South Carolina on June 27, 1960. He was the son of the late Nicholas Peter Hawkins and Lillian Grant Hawkins. Lucius received his education in the Berkeley County School System. He later enlisted in the United States Navy and received his degree in Underwater Welding. He received an Honorable Discharge from the Navy and earned other degrees. He became a member of New Emanuel A.M.E. Church at a very young age. He was an active member and loved attending church. Lucius departed this life on February 11, 2015 at his residence. Lucius leaves to mourn his passing: one brother, Mr. James Hawkins of McCormick, SC; three sisters, Ms. Vivian Hawkins and Ms. Gwendolyn Hawkins of Moncks Corner, SC and Mrs. Ora C. Lawrence (Joe, Sr.) of Huger, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lucius was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas P. Hawkins and Lillian Hawkins; and two sisters, Barbara Thomas and Melody Charlene Hawkins.
