With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mr. Mack Ravenell, Jr., who entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
Mack was a man who found joy in the simple things that made life meaningful. He loved being outside in the yard, and he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. But above all, his greatest love was his family. He cherished spending time with those he loved, surrounded by laughter, conversation, and the warmth of family. He also found joy in the kitchen, where he was known for cooking delicious cornbread and cabbage. His love, laughter, and the memories he created with his family will remain a part of them forever.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Delores W. Ravenell; his children, Lawrence O. White, Saundra R. Mitchell (Michael), Mack D. Ravenell, III (Natisha), Jason Ravenell, Derrick Haskell (Janet), Darlene Bryant (Melvin), Yvonne Gethers, and Darryl Bennett (Veronica); three sisters, Ruby Bryant, Ruthie Owsley, and Thelma Spann; and a host of grandchildren, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
The family will be receiving friends from Sunday, September 6, 2026, through Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily.
A viewing will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Gethers Funeral Chapel, 221 Church Road, St. Stephen, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, 2907 Highway 45, Pineville, SC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
As the Ravenell family mourns the loss of a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, we ask that you continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers. May God surround them with His comfort, strengthen them in the days ahead, and remind them that the love and laughter Mack shared with them will never be forgotten.
