Ms. Mae S. Reid, beloved daughter of the late Mr. Ernest Reid and Mrs. Louise Darby Reid, was born on July 29, 1959 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Having fought the good fight of faith, she departed this life on Monday, March 15, 2021 in Summerville, SC.

Mae, affectionately called "Betty" by family and friends, received her education in the public schools of Wilmington, Delaware.

At an early age, Mae joined Scott AME Zion Church, Wilmington, DE where she sang on the Youth Choir and Gospel Choir. She enjoyed Sunday School and was a member of Class #2.

Mae was a caring and devoted mother and grandmother who loved her sons and grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed outings like going to the beach, shopping, family picnics and family dinners. She loved music - Old School, R&B, Gospel and Neo Soul.  Mae will be missed by all.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her sons, Ricardo Reid (Chanel), Robert Reid (Jami) and Ronald Reid (Kendra); grandchildren; siblings, Mary Nelson (Cleveland), Reverend Dorothy Duncan (Freddie, Sr.), Peggy Smalls (Edward), Floyd Reid (Patricia), Michael Reid, Willie Gregg, Leo Gregg and Richard Gregg; one aunt, Leola Darby; one uncle, Samuel Darby (Vera); and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by: two brothers, Albert Darby, James Reid and Arthur Reid; sister, Etta Reid; and sister-in-law, Denise Reid.

Viewing will be held Friday, March 19, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Private Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at O.
