Life Reflections

Mae Judge Watson was born on May 13, 1928 in Cypress Garden, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Julius and Sadie Simmons Judge. She departed her earthly life and gained her heavenly wings on Monday, February 6, 2023 in Moncks Corner, SC.

She was educated in the Berkeley County School System, attending Berkeley Training School (Wildcats) in Moncks Corner, SC and graduated in 1970.

Mae was a faithful woman of God and was a faithful member of Greater Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she served in the following capacities: Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Usher Board, Stewardess Board and she was a member of the Gospel Choir for many years.

Mae began working at The Berkeley Restaurant and later worked for the Berkeley County School System as a school bus driver for 44 years until her retirement. She made sure countless children got to and from school safely over the years.

She was united in Holy Matrimony twice: first to her former husband, Elijah White and then later to Thomas Watson. Her first marriage blessed her with eight (8) children and her second marriage with two (2) children. Both husbands along with four children: Terry White, Beverly White, Elijah White, Jr. and Derrick Watson, Sr. preceded her in death.

Mae loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren very much. She touched the lives of many people whom she loved dearly. She loved her flowers and being in her yard and garden. Her favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalm and she loved to sing "Blessed Assurance, Jesus is Mine". We will forever cherish and miss her presence in our lives.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her children, Johnny Lee White (Sabina), Walter J. White, Sr. (Manolita), Adlai Ike White, Patricia W. Middleton, Bobby White and Rev. Judy Elaine Thar (Daniel); thirty-five grandchildren; sixty-six great-grandchildren; eight great, great-grandchildren; two godsons; other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, 1:00 p.m., at Greater Emanuel A.M.E. Church, 1174 Doctor Evans Road, Moncks Corner, SC. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be on Friday, February 10, 2023, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Gethers Funeral Home, 200 Grace Street, Moncks Corner, SC.
