With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the passing of Mrs. Maggie Mae Simmons of Moncks Corner, SC, who peacefully transitioned from labor to reward on Friday, October 17, 2025. Mrs. Simmons was the widow of Mr. Guss Simmons.
A lifelong resident of Moncks Corner, Mrs. Simmons lived a life marked by faith, devotion, and love for her family and community. She will be remembered for her kind heart, wise counsel, and the many ways she shared her talents, whether through her warm kitchen, her gifted hands, or her generous spirit.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: her loving and devoted children, Orell Simmons (Lilly), Marsha Ann Gibbs and Chester Simmons (Fredericka); seven grandchildren: Avery, Ashley, Sheldon, Jarred (Ashey), Angel, Jillian, and Joshua; four great-grandchildren, Darius, Kaiden, Kendall and Kaylee; siblings, Herman Davis, Melvin McQueen and Jerome McQueen (Lora); and a host of family and friends who will forever treasure her legacy.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025, 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Gethers Funeral Home, 200 Grace Street, Moncks Corner, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, 11:00 a.m., at Greater St. James AME Church, 1831 Jedburg Road, Summerville, SC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will be NO VIEWING after the service.

The family will receive friends at their residence from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily.
