Ms. Marguerita V. Heyward, the daughter of the late Rev. Peter Philip Heyward and Mrs. Mary E. Holmes Heyward, was born on December 12, 1922 in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Roper Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. Ms. Heyward grew up in a Christian atmosphere. She joined Heaven's Gate United Methodist Church and served in various capacities which included Sunday School Teacher and singing with the Young People's Choir. After graduating from Howard High School, Ms. Heyward furthered her education at Bethune-Cookman College where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science. She went on to earn a Master's Degree from Howard University. Ms. Heyward worked as a Recreational Specialist for the Federal Government for several years until her retirement from the Fort Bragg Army Base. Ms. Heyward relocated to St. Stephen, South Carolina and resided with her sister and brother-in-law when her health failed. There, she worshipped at New Light United Methodist Church under watch care. Ms. Heyward was preceded in death by several siblings. She leaves to mourn her passing: one sister, Mrs. Janie M. Hill and brother-in-law, Mr. Walter Hill of St. Stephen, SC; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Colleen A.
