With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the passing of Mrs. Martha Sue Alston, who entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 28, 2026.

Mrs. Alston had a special love for children and was affectionately known as the “community babysitter.” Her home was often filled with children whom she lovingly cared for, creating many special memories over the years. She also enjoyed cooking and found joy in preparing meals and sharing them with others. In her quiet moments, she enjoyed sewing.

Mrs. Alston leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Reverend Julius Alston, Jr.; children, Donald Alston, Cynthia Alston Garey, Charles “Mickey” Alston, Derrick Alston and Katrina Alston Cain; two daughters-in-law, Cheryl Harvey Alston and Patricia Washington; two sons-in-law, Leroy Washington and Willard Cain, Jr.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends who loved her dearly.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Baptist Church, 1159 Old Black Oak Road, Moncks Corner, SC. Burial will follow in Old Nazareth Cemetery, Pinopolis, SC.
