With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mrs. Martha Cole Ransom of St. Stephen, SC. Mrs. Ransom transitioned into eternal life with the Lord on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 in St. Stephen, SC. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Isaiah Cole and Mrs. Carrie McClennon Cole.

She was a dietician with the Berkeley County School District for numerous years.

Survivors include: her children, Alice Jones, Helen Sellers, Norman Ransom, Jr. (Rosa) and Dr. Melvin Ransom (Marilyn); a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Norman Ransom, Sr.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024, 2:00 p.m., at New Light United Methodist Church, 1037 Russellville Road, St. Stephen, SC. Burial will take place in Tri-Churches Cemetery. The body will lie-in-state at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. There will be no viewing after the service.
