With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the passing of Mrs. Marva E. Thurman Padgett of Shulerville, SC, who transitioned on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

Mrs. Padgett was a retired educator with the Berkeley County School District, where she inspired and shaped countless young lives. Her love for her community was evident through her work in operating a Food Bank and serving as Program Director for the Summer Lunch Program for children. A proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., she also faithfully served the Lord as a devoted member of Jehovah Holiness Church. Her favorite scripture, Psalm 34, reflected the spirit of praise and devotion by which she lived.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Mr. Jerome Padgett; her children, Anthony Padgett (Angela), Kevin Padgett (Debra), Wendell Padgett (Coretta), and Nicole Padgett; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Elder Walter Thurman, Jr. (Patricia), Gwendolyn Jefferson, Rev. Yvonne Jenkins (Herman), and Cynthia Thurman; along with in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends who will forever treasure her legacy.

A viewing will be held Friday, October 3, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A wake service will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Jehovah Holiness Church, 2613 French Santee Road, Shulerville, SC 29453. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025, 1:00 p.m., at Wesley A.M.E. Church, 2883 French Santee Road, Shulerville, SC 29453. Interment will be in the church's cemetery.

The family will receive friends at their residence daily from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
