It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Mary Nelson Aiken of Bonneau, SC, who left this world at the remarkable age of 101 on January 13, 2026. Her life was a tapestry woven with love, strength, and cherished moments.

Mrs. Aiken is lovingly remembered by her children: Gwendolyn Nelson, Juardella Denise Nelson, and Eartha Middleton, as well as her special daughter, Rovena Nelson Jones. Her treasured legacy continues through her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends whose lives she touched. 

Among those who held a special place in her heart were her beloved cousins, Evelyn Lambright Gethers and Deacon John Wright, who shared a unique bond with her throughout the years. The love and wisdom that Mrs. Aiken imparted will forever echo in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate to know her.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Mr. Moses Aiken, and her daughter, Carolyn Nelson Crosson (Elliott).

In honor of her remarkable life, a viewing will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Gethers Funeral Home, located at 200 Grace Street, Moncks Corner, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Carmel AME Church, 1059 Old Black Oak Road, Moncks Corner, SC, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
