Mrs. Mattie R. Campbell, the daughter of the late Mr. Ezekiel Reid and Mrs. Florence Bell Foxworth Reid, was born April 25, 1922 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. She departed this life peacefully on Saturday, May 25, 2013. Mattie received her formal education in the public schools of Berkeley County, SC. She met and married Reverend Eddie Campbell on April 17, 1941. To this union three children were born. Shortly after their union, Mattie became a member of Mt. Carmel African Methodist Episcopal Church where she served faithfully until her time of illness. Mattie loved to sew, style hair, decorate and above all, she loved to dress. Mattie was preceded in death by her loving and faithful husband; one child who died shortly after birth; a son, Leonard Campbell; three brothers and six sisters. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: two devoted children, Janice C. Johnson (Leroy-deceased) and Roderick Reid; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Stella Wattley (John-deceased) and Dorothy R. Frazier (Isaiah-deceased); two sisters-in-law, Jean C. Rivers (B. J.- deceased) and Dorothy C. White (Jake-deceased); one brother-in-law, Harold Campbell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends.
