Maydie Savage Middleton, daughter of the late Herbert and Annie Rollerson Savage, was born December 10, 1929, in Berkeley County, South Carolina. She departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Bon-Secours St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, SC. Maydie was educated in the Berkeley County School System. She worked in various positions to include homemaker, restaurant cook, as well as domestic. Maydie enjoyed quilting and gardening to the utmost. Most of all, she was thrilled to have her family and friends enjoy the fruits of her labor. Maydie joined St. Peters A.M.E. Church at an early age where she served faithfully as a Class Leader until her health began to fail. Maydie was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Savage and Freddie Savage; one daughter, Willie Mae Major; and two grandsons, Bradley O. Andrews and Rodney T. Major, Jr. Maydie leaves to cherish her many precious memories, five sons: Edward James Campbell, Deacon William (Margaret) Middleton, Jr., Herbert J. (Brenda) Middleton of Bonneau, SC, John T. Middleton of St. Stephen, SC, and Christopher C. Middleton of Columbia, SC; four daughters: Viola Harris and M. Frances Middleton of Bonneau, SC; Alfreda Middleton, and Madie S. Andrews of Columbia, SC; a very special friend, Mr. Chesley McConnell of Jamestown, SC; three brothers: Herbert Lee Savage, Henry Dean Savage and Johnnie James Savage all of Bonneau, SC; three sisters: Elease (David) Washington, Annie Mae Wright, and Dorothy S. Winns all of Bonneau, SC; 31 grandchildren: Brenda L. Wilson, Myra (Ernest) Johnson; Ira Middleton, Dana (Walter) Isom, Maurice Middleton; Steve Wright, Rico Wright, Shonda Wright, Jaquanda Wright, Terry Wright; Sean Middleton, Brian (Courtney) Middleton; Kevin Milford, Melisa Milford, Tonia Middleton, Desmond Middleton, Phillip Nelson; Merrell (Jennifer) Middleton, Roderick Middleton, Patrick (Tekera) Middleton, Turquoise Middleton; Anthony Middleton, E3 Xavier T. Preacher; E4 Brandon O. Andrews, Braxton Andrews, Braeda Andrews; Antwan J. Brown, Christopher C. Middleton, Valencia Middleton, Camron C. Middleton and Ishmael Sharpe Middleton; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; one aunt, Mrs. Elnora Williams of Arizona; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
