Obituary

Michael Randolph Rembert, son of Carutha Rembert, was born August 10, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York. After a valiant fight with pancreatic cancer, Michael entered into eternal life to be with the Lord on November 8, 2015, at his home in Pineville, South Carolina. Michael was educated in the New York public schools. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He dutifully served his country from September 9, 1978 to February 2, 1982. After his honorable discharge from military service, Michael became a Corrections Officer and was employed with the New York Department of Corrections until his retirement. Michael was united in holy matrimony to Theodora Rembert. This union was blessed with a daughter, Maria. His wife preceded him in death. In 2005, Michael relocated to Pineville, SC. He became a member of Redeemer Reformed Episcopal Church. He loved reading the bible and was quite knowledgeable about it. Michael possessed a real zest for life. When diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2013, he remained brave. His strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and caregivers carried him through his fight. He will be remembered for his loving heart and gentle spirit. He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Maria Rembert; his loving and devoted mother, Carutha Rembert; seven aunts, Alberta Smith, Alma Rembert, Jennette Rembert, Doris Williams, Willie Mae Rembert, Madelyn Rembert and Corine Rembert; a host of cousins and friends. "In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." Michael's mother, Carutha, is grateful to everyone who assisted Michael during his illness, especially, Mary Ann Jones, Mickie Rembert, Dr. Charles Holladay and staff of the Oncology Department, Agape Hospice, Jennette Rembert, Rev. Benjamin Milligan, Clease Allen, Henry Stewart, Randolph Rembert, Debra Jenkins, and his loving cousins.
