Obituary

Moses Limehouse, Jr., son of the late Moses Limehouse, Sr. and Rebecca Limehouse-Platts, was born on November 1, 1942 in Cordesville, South Carolina. On Sunday, December 25, 2016, Moses entered into eternal rest.

He was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County. At an early age, Moses began working to help support his family.

As a young man, Moses became a member of what is now Greater Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. For many years he served as: Assistant Leader of Class #1, Church Sexton, Trustee Board member and Driver for the Soup On Wheels Ministry.

On July 24, 1969, Moses joined into Holy Matrimony to Sarah Brown Limehouse of Cross, SC. Together, they were blessed with three sons and one daughter.

Moses was dutifully employed by Banks Construction Company for over 43 years. He was known for his dedication to the company and strong work ethic. In retirement, Moses kept busy and enjoyed visiting with family and friends, working on small projects, relaxing on the front porch rocker and watching his favorite TV shows such as Westerns and Walker, Texas Ranger.

Moses was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Limehouse.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Sarah B. Limehouse of Moncks Corner, SC; four sons, Tyrone Barnes of Jersey City, NJ, Moses Anthony Limehouse (Catina) of Goose Creek, SC, Michael Christopher Limehouse of Moncks Corner, SC and Steven Lawrence Limehouse (Romona) of Summerville, SC; one daughter, Sharena L. Cobbs (Joseph) of North Charleston, SC; 14 grandchildren; 2 honorary grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ella Mae Thomas of New York City, NY and Mary Lee Morton (Elijah) of Moncks Corner, SC; brothers-in-law, Willie Jr., Gene, Irving, Kenneth, Isiah, Glennis and Lennis Brown, Dwight Weatherly and Robert Quinn; sisters-in-law, Wilhelmina Weatherly, Maxine Quinn, Victoria and Valerie Brown; lifelong friend, Joel Richmond; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
