Lillie Bell Wilson Green "Dah" was born June 3, 1921, to the late John Wilson and Mary Tucker Wilson of Moncks Corner, South Carolina. She was the first of nine children. God called her home on Thursday, September 12, 2024, in Charleston, South Carolina.
Lillie was educated in the Colored Public Schools of Berkeley County. She later moved to Charleston, South Carolina where she was a domestic worker for Francis Marion Hotel. She later worked at The Tobacco Manufacturing Company, East Bay Street, Charleston, SC. Lillie worked at the Medical University of South Carolina for thirteen years where she retired.
In 1939 Lillie married Horace Green Sr., and to this union a child was born. Lillie was a faithful member of Saint Luke's Episcopal Church where she ushered and loved on many people under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Julius Barnes. Lillie moved back home near family and friends where she continued her faithful service to God at Saint Thomas Reformed Episcopal Church under the leadership of Rev. Alfred Addison.
She was preceded in death by her son, Horace Green Jr. of South Carolina; father, John Wilson, mother, Mary Tucker Wilson of Moncks Corner, SC; three brothers, John and Issac Wilson of Moncks Corner, SC and Sammy Wilson of North Carolina; three sisters, Alice Felder of New York, Rebecca Grant and Martha Frazier of Moncks Corner, SC; granddaughter, Tina Lousie Green Hall; great-grandson, Jeremy Green of Columbus, GA.
Loved ones left to cherish her memories: her two beloved grandchildren Tanchella G. Perry and Horace Green III of Charleston, South Carolina; five great-grandchildren and five great, great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lerline Martin and Mary Grant of Moncks Corner, SC; daughter-in-law, Ella Green; one God child, Panshella Cole; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all that knew and loved her.
A viewing will be held Friday, September 20, 2024, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024, 1:00 p.m., at St. Thomas Reformed Episcopal Church, 668 Murraysville Road, Moncks Corner, SC. Burial will be in Old Nazareth Cemetery, Pinopolis, SC.
The family will receive friends beginning Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the residence of Mrs. Mary Grant. They appreciate your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
