IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mother Mary
Lee Wright
November 4, 1941 – October 30, 2022
Mary Lee Wright was born November 4, 1941 in Moro, Arkansas to her parents, Ora Payne and Albert Walton. She was the first of ten children born to Mrs. Ora. Because of her grandmother's sickness, Mary Lee was raised by her grandparents. As a caregiver of her grandmother, Mary was taught how to cook and sew at an early age. Upon the death of her grandparents, Mary lived with her mother and stepfather, Wiley Peppers. She was educated in the Arkansas school system.
Mary met and married Theodore Hughes and to this union six children were born. They moved to Saint Louis, Missouri. Theodore preceded Mary in death when her baby was two years old.
Twelve years later in 1979, Mary met Victor Wright and four months later, they were married. To this union, God gave a son.
Mary enjoyed cooking, sewing, shopping, and visiting and helping those that are less fortunate. Mary had a heart of gold.
Because of her love for God and accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior at an early age, Mary eventually became one of the church mothers at Summer Faith Temple C.O.G.I.C. and Maple Temple C.O.G.I.C.
Mary loved her husband and children and would let you know, don't mess with them. She also loved her nieces, nephews and grandchildren and would have a house full of children nearly every summer. Mary has seen five generations, including herself. She was a model in the community in both Missouri and South Carolina. She was always willing to give to help others.
Mary transitioned into eternal life with the Lord on Sunday, October 30, 2022, in Charleston, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Frank, Wiley Jr. and James Peppers; and three grandsons, Timothy Hughes, Jr., Mark Griffin and Alphonso Davies.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband Elder Victor Wright of Moncks Corner, SC; her children: Gloria Nicholson of Kansas City, KS, Thelma Paige, Theodore (Rochelle) Hughes, Timothy Hughes, Glenn Hughes, Samantha (Ronny) Griffin and Brandon Wright all of Saint Louis, MO; two brothers, David and Elijah Peppers of Saint Louis, MO; three sisters, Mable (Tommy) Williams of Manassas, VA, Betty Peppers and Bessie Jones of St. Louis, MO; a beloved cousin, John Payne; Goddaughters, Van Alice Johnson and Marlene Prophete of Saint Louis, MO; mother-in-law, Annie Rose Wright of Moncks Corner, SC; brother-in-law, Elder Vernon (Brenda) Wright of Stone Mountain, GA; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great, great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
