Nana Lee Surrett, the daughter of the late Glennie McNeil and Margaret Green McNeil, was born on March 8, 1941 in Berkeley County, South Carolina. She departed this life on Sunday, July 5, 2009 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. She received her education in the public schools of Berkeley County. She accepted Christ at an early age and was an active member of Cordesville United Methodist Church, where she served in the following capacities: Finance Board Member, Church Usher, Hospitality Committee Member and United Methodist Women Chairperson. Nana Lee was united in Holy Matrimony to David D. Surrett, Sr. on March 21, 1959. This union was blessed with five children. Her husband, her brother, Glennie McNeil, Jr. and a grandson, David G. Surrett preceded her in death. Nana Lee's beautiful smile and candid spirit will be forever remembered and loved. Those left to cherish her memories include: five sons, David Surrett, Jr. of Killeen, TX, Ronald Surrett of New York City, NY, Sylvester Surrett of Moncks Corner, SC, Morris Surrett of New York City, NY and Emanuel Surrett of Suffolk, VA; three daughters-in-law, Phyllis Surrett, Sheri Surrett and Shannon Surrett; her grandchildren, Jermaine, Jasmine, Tiarra, Sara and Darius; five stepgrandchildren, Michael, Mari, Cedric, Kalev and Toree; a host of other relatives and friends.
