Nancy Lee Gibbs, the daughter of the late Frank and Lillie Gadsden, was born on January 22, 1929, in Cordesville, South Carolina. God called her home from her earthly home early Wednesday evening, January 20, 2016.

Nancy, also known as "Jake", attended school in the Berkeley County School District. At an early age, she was converted and baptized at Christ Revival Church, St. Stephen, SC.

She was united in holy matrimony to Jake Gibbs. This union was blessed with seven children. One daughter, Susanah Rivers, preceded her in death.

Nancy was a member of Holy Comforter Reformed Episcopal Church where she served faithfully on the Senior Choir.

Nancy had a natural gift for cooking, fishing and her love for children. On any given day, Nancy was working in her flower garden. She shared her gifts with all she came in contact with. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

Nancy leaves many to cherish her precious memories: her children, Martha (Michael) White of Cordesville, SC, Pearlie (Jerome) Sumpter of Hampton, SC, Virginia (Frank) Limehouse of Cordesville, SC, Marion (Adell) Gibbs of Huger, SC, Gloria (Pastor Jerome) Wilson of Moncks Corner, SC and Anton (Helen) Gibbs of Longridge, SC; a special daughter, Mona Limehouse of Cordesville, SC; 29 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and 10 great, great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Mattie Clyburn, Ethlee Gadsden both of Cordesville, SC and Bessie White of Charleston, SC; three brothers-in-law, Rev. Joe Gibbs, Samuel Gibbs and John Henry Gibbs of Cordesville, SC; a special friend, Herlene Johnson of Cordesville, SC; a special nurse, Tanisha Frazier; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
