Neitha G. Watson was born on April 10, 1919 in Berkeley County, South Carolina to William and Florence Grant. Neitha attended school in Berkeley and Charleston Counties. Neitha's dream and passion was to build her a house and to open up her very own beauty shop. She studied Beauty Culture at Burke High School in Charleston, SC. After moving to New York, she continued her studies in Beauty Culture in order to obtain a New York State License. She continued her practice in New York for many years. In the late 1960s, Neitha returned home where she did build her house and her beauty shop. "Neets Beauty Shop" on Highway 402 became a reality. Neitha was an ordained associate minister of Irving Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. She attended services there until she moved to Long Island, New York in June 2005. Neitha was the widow of Julius Watson who passed away March 16, 2003. Neitha went home to be with the Lord on June 4, 2009. Neitha will be truly missed by her niece, Lillian Simmons; her cousins, Victoria Dixon, Florence Fludd (Willie), Norman Brightman, and Herman Brightman; and a host of cousins and friends.
