Obituary

Norman I. Brightman Sr., age 85, was born to the late Frank Sr. and Nancy Green Brightman in Cordesville, South Carolina, on June 10, 1936. On Saturday, December 11, 2021, he began his eternal rest after a lengthy illness.

Norman was formally educated through the Cordesville School System, where he attended Cordesville High School. Norman moved to New York in 1954. After a brief stint in the National Guard, Norman worked various jobs until he began work with the City of New York, where he rose through the ranks to the position of maintenance supervisor - a place kept until his retirement.

Norman  met and was united in holy matrimony to Margie Robinson Brightman in 1958. That union conceived four sons: Norman Jr., Derek (Deceased), Damien (Deceased), and Kevin. His six siblings preceded him in death: Victoria, Margaret, Frank Jr., Florence, Rebecca (his twin), and Herman.

Throughout  his life, Norman, "A Jack of All Trades", loved electronics and was known to be the resident  fixer-upper in the family and neighborhood.

Norman  was an avid gun enthusiast who was well-versed in the care and safe use of various firearms. Anyone that visited him saw that enthusiasm in the massive number of books and materials about weapons.

Norman  leaves to cherish his memory: two loving sons, Norman Jr. and Kevin (Dr. Theresa) Brightman of Bronx, New York; their mother, Margie Brightman; one grandchild, two great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones.
