Obituary

"For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith"

- II Timothy 4:6-7

Odessa Haynes Mahoney was born on March 17, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Alma Haynes Rorie. Odessa was nurtured in the home of the grandparents, the late Tom and Isabella Haynes. She answered God's call and transitioned into glory on Saturday, May 8, 2021.

Odessa Haynes Mahoney attended the public schools of Berkeley County, graduating from Berkeley Training High School in 1955. As many others in the 1950s, she moved to New York City to pursue a better life and employment. While in New York, Odessa attended several training schools and was employed in various occupations. After moving back home in 1990, she accepted a position at Berkeley Federal Credit Union as a teller until retirement in 2005.
