Oliver E. Manigault was April 5, 1927 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. He was a son of the late Charles Manigault and Cynthia Turner Manigault. He departed this life on March 21, 2015 at his residence. Oliver, affectionately called "Humpy", was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County, SC. At a young age, he attended Wesley United Methodist Church. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1945 and received an honorable discharge in 1947. He relocated to New York after his military service. He attended the American Institute School and studied electronics. Oliver was employed in several venues including the Cardinal Tie Factory, Knitting Company Factory and the Post Office. He retired as a clerk with the New York Transit Authority after 25 years of dedicated service. Oliver was united in holy matrimony on April 5, 1952 to Marie Gillians. This union was blessed with two sons. After returning to Moncks Corner, Oliver became a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where he served with the United Methodist Men and in other capacities. Oliver was a member of Moncks Corner Lodge #323, F.&A.M., PHA. He was also Past Worthy Patron of Moncks Corner Chapter #161, Order of the Eastern Star. He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his wife of 63 years, Marie G. Manigault; two sons, Reynold O. (Robin M.) Manigault and Kevin G. Manigault; four grandchildren, Michael Manigault, Loren Nicki Johnson, Jamal Virgil and Kevin Alexander Manigault, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Liam Johnson, Logan Johnson, Shanelle Virgil and Danielle Virgil; siblings, Emily Reid, Ben (Rebecca) Manigault, Samuel Manigault, Phyllis Brown, D. Manigault, Christopher (Margie) Manigault, Booker (Peggy) Manigault, Geraldine (Clarence) Aquart, Delenora (Peter) Gillins and Willie Manigault; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
