Deacon Ollie Summers, Jr., affectionately known as "The Waterman", was born on September 13, 1949 in Bamberg, South Carolina, the eldest of five children born to Ollie and Lerline F. Summers, Sr. Ollie Summers, Jr. took his heavenly rest on Sunday, January 26, 2020 while at home with his family. Deacon Ollie graduated from Richard Carroll High School in Bamberg, SC.
Deacon Ollie was employed and later retired from Alumax Aluminum Corporation.
Deacon Ollie was united in Holy Matrimony to Dorothy Greene Summers, and was blessed with two children, LaShawn and Tiffany. The eldest child is Kenneth.
His parents and brothers, Edward and Willie preceded him in death.
He was an active member of Rock Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, sang with the Male Choir and was a member of the Board of Trustees, until his health failed him.
Those left to cherish his memories are: his wife, Dorothy Summers; children, Tiffany Summers of Moncks Corner, SC, LaShawn Summers (Katuri) of Moncks Corner, SC and Kenneth Sanders (Leatha) of Summerville, SC; six grandchildren, Kendrick Summers, Desha Summers, Makhi Summers, Jontaysia Robinson, Courtney Ladson and Zykenya Stanley; one great-grandchild, Ava; siblings, Deloris Ryant (Leroy) and Edna Summers Bell (Lewis) both of Bamberg, SC; mother-in-law; sisters and brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
