Omar Jamin McGhee, also known as "Mack" or "Bubba", son of Benjamin Mackie McGhee and Rev. Robin Smalls McGhee-Frazier, was born on August 5, 1979 in Charleston, South Carolina. He departed this life on Sunday, August 26, 2012 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Omar was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County, graduating from Berkeley High School, Class of 1997. He later attended Trident Technical College. At an early age, he joined Moncks Corner African Methodist Episcopal Church, where he served on the Sunbeam Choir, the Youth Choir and as a Junior Usher. Omar was passionate about sports. He loved football, baseball and basketball. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also loved to ride motorcycles and drive cars. Omar was a member of Moncks Corner Lodge No. 323, Free and Accepted Masons. Omar was a source of laughter and joy to each life he touched. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memories: "Daddy's Girls," Yasmin Shyanne McGhee and Omyiah Sani McGhee; his fiancé, Aisha Symone Smith; his parents, Benjamin M. McGhee (Loretta) and Rev. Robin S. McGhee-Frazier (Arthur); brothers, Benjamin McGhee, Jr. and Shaquiel McGhee; special sisters, Deleta Richardson, Donette Gaddist, Kesha Peace, Jovita Smith, Romella Haywood, Monique Smith and Delesha Smith; grandparents, Eloise Smalls and Henry McGhee; great grandaunt, Emma Coleman; two very special people in his life, Edward P. and Mary Smith, Jr.; aunts and uncles, Donald (Yvonne) Smalls, Franklin (Joann) McGhee, Carl (Shirly) Smalls, Darryl (Rita) McGhee, Jeanetta (Harry) Haywood (who was also his godmother), Delores (Archie) Smalls, Patricia (Matthew) Smith, Debbie (Charles) Glover, Larry (Carolyn) Milligan, Rosalind (Joseph) Bishop, Ricky (Hester) Rhames, William Myers, and Glinda (Nathaniel) Zackery; grandaunts and granduncles, Peter(Delenora) Gillins, Wilhemenia Parson, Sam McGhee and Earline Walker; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
