On August 15, 1929, in Berkeley County, South Carolina, John Henry Lloyd and Annie Irene Lloyd were blessed with the birth of a daughter, Oralee Lloyd. Oralee received her education in the public schools of Berkeley County. At an early age, Oralee joined Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church where she was a faithful and dedicated member for many years. Oralee was united in Holy Matrimony to Jackson Blakes on August 17, 1979. He preceded her in death. Sister Oralee was a lovable character, a person everyone chose to have as a friend and willing to be a friend to all. She loved people. Oralee departed this life on Sunday, August 15, 2010, at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law. She leaves to cherish her precious memory: her loving children, Blondia (Jacob) Hamilton of Moncks Corner, SC, Joann Lloyd Ervin and Rudolph (Dessirene) Lloyd of Cordesville, SC; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wilbert J. Lloyd (Jannie), Willie Norris Lloyd (Hester), and John Henry (Linda) Lloyd, Jr.; sisters-in-law; a loving friend, Ula Rivers; special adopted sister, Edith Lloyd; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
