Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 Brother Otis J. Huey, son of the late Green and Nancy Huey, was born on January 2, 1938 in Raeford, North Carolina. He departed this life on February 16, 2011 in Alvin, South Carolina. Brother Otis J. Huey was educated in the Hoke County School System. He worked various jobs within construction throughout North and South Carolina. He later became employed by Berkeley County Roads & Bridges in the early 1980s, where he retired from on January 4, 2000. Brother Otis J. Huey became a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church after accepting Christ. He was a faithful member of the Senior Choir and was a Sunday School and Bible Study Scholar. He was a member of Laurel Hill Lodge #193, Free and Accepted Masons, where he served as the Tyler. Brother Otis J. Huey loved visiting the sick, helping people and whatever he found his hands to do, he did. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Emma Jean Brown on December 20, 1980. Brother Otis J. Huey was preceded in death by a daughter, Caroline Huey and two sisters, Louise Huey Roper and Earnestine Huey. He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Emma J. Huey; five sons, Darrell Huey (Felicia) of Charlotte, NC, Otis Green Huey and Jeffrey Huey both of Raeford, NC, Joseph Brown and Stonnie Brown both of Alvin, SC; six daughters, Pamela Rogers (Roy) of Rock Hill, SC, Kimberly Huey of Charlotte, NC, Zilla Parks (Ricky) of Shelby, NC, Vanessa Hobson (Jerome) of Raeford, NC, Feda Graham (Herbert) of Alvin, SC and Evangeline Gethers of Columbus, GA; three brothers, Willie Green Huey of Jersey City, NJ, Albert Huey (Dorothy) of Durham, NC and Fermon Huey (Elaine) of Fayetteville, NC; five sisters, Ameria Ali of Lithonia, GA, Maggie Bell Huey of Brooklyn, NY, Beatrice Huey of Newport News, VA, Rosa Howard of Lancaster, SC and Doris McCrae of Greensboro, NC; thirty-two grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
