Pamela Denise Hawkins , daughter of the late Alton and Iva Bell Hawkins, Sr., was born on August 9, 1957.

Pamela was educated in the Berkeley County Public School System and was a graduate of Macedonia High School Class of 1975. She continued her education at Claflin College and graduated from the University of South Carolina. She retired from both the Berkeley County Water and Sanitation Authority and Berkeley County Clerk of Court.

At an early age, Pamela became a member of Liberty Reformed Episcopal Church. After marriage, she became a member of New Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, then returned to Liberty R.E. Church. Pamela was an Usher, Sunday School Beginners and Primary Teacher, and Black History Coordinator. She served as chairperson of the Christmas Program and Vacation Bible School.

Pamela departed this life on January 4, 2021.

Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Iva Bell Hawkins; siblings, Arnold Hawkins, Linda Morgan, Alton Hawkins, Jr. and Sharon Mazyck; and brothers-in-law, Harvey Middleton and Nathaniel Morgan.

She will forever be remembered by: her children, Kimberly (Stephen) English and Amber (Floyd) Gant; grandchildren, Taylor English, Isabella Gant and Tristian Gant; siblings, Ella Middleton, Victor Hawkins and Lisa (Steffany) Beauford; sisters-in-law, Freedonia Hawkins and Wilhemena Hawkins; brother-in-law, Eddie Mazyck; uncle, Calvin Beauford; aunt, Shirley Washington; special friends, Brenda Heyward and Ramona Rembert; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

ewing will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Washington Memorial Cemetery, Jamestown, SC.
