There is an inscription in an old English churchyard "Who plucked that flower?" cried the gardener as he walked through the garden. His fellow-servant answered, "The Master!", and the gardener held his peace. Today we hold our peace and offer thanks to our Master who plucked one of His own creations, a beautiful flower, Patricia Ann "Tricia" Pinckney, to bloom in His Garden of Eternity, in that blessed land of pure delight. She departed this life on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Howard County Hospital, Columbia, Maryland. "Tricia" was born on June 20, 1970 in Valhalla, New York. She received her education in Bedford Hills Elementary and Fox Lane Middle/High Schools. She continued her education at Baruch College, Manhattan, New York, where she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She was employed at Hallmark Cards in New York for ten years as a Human Resources Administrator and continued her career at KRA Corporation, Fulton, Maryland for the last five years of her life as Vice President of Human Resources. For the first three years of Tricia's life, she was brought up in the home of her late grandparents, Joe and Louise (Shuler) Pinckney in the Old Field section of St. Stephen, South Carolina where she and her cousin Tracey were raised as sisters. On August 15, 1996, Tricia was blessed with a beautiful baby boy, Anthony Pinckney Crews. She was a dedicated mother whose main goal in life was to provide for her son and make sure he received a good education. Members of her family who are truly grateful for having been blessed in a most special way to share in her life are: her son, Anthony Pinckney Crews of Upper Marlboro, MD; her parents, Lawrence and Barbara Ann Pinckney Jordan of Bedford Hills, NY; her siblings, Shaniya (Anan Hussein) Jordan of Bedford Hills, NY and Lawrence-Lil Larry (Lisa) Jordan of Meridian, ID; her paternal grandfather, John M. Jordan of Bedford Hills, NY; one special nephew, Micah Jordan of Meridian, ID; her special first cousins who were regarded as extended siblings; her special maternal aunts and uncle who treated her as their child; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. Sleep on Tricia, take your rest, we love you well, but God loves you best.
