Obituary

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; Ecclesiastes 3:1, 2a A Time to Be Born: Patricia Ann Toomer was born September 22, 1954 in Pineville, South Carolina. She was a daughter of Edwin "Shing" Toomer and the late Bernice Washington Toomer. A Time to Plant: "Trish", "Tricia", and "Ma", as she was affectionately called, was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County, SC. She was a 1977 graduate of St. Stephen High School. She was formerly employed with Berkeley Industries and McDonald's of Moncks Corner, SC. She was a dedicated and dependable employee. A Time to Every Purpose under the Heaven: Patricia accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Redeemer Reformed Episcopal Church, Pineville, SC. She was a faithful devoted Christian who served God well. Sunday would not be Sunday, without Patricia being in church. She also attended Sunday School. "Trish" served in various capacities, including the Missionaries and the Pulpit Aid, with a big heart of love. She was a giver and others felt it all around. She served faithfully until her death. A Time to Embrace: Patricia was a shower of blessings, as she journeyed in life. She always shared her resources and always showed compassion. She loved children, and she would provide care to them without any reservations. Her pleasant spirit shined like a star among the great and glorious gifts our Heavenly Father sends. A Time to Love: Patricia was a quiet friend who carried a heart full of love and made everyone feel so special. She involved herself in happiness and expressed it through her infectious smile. She was a kind, loving and supportive person who gave her best in everything. Patricia contributed much to her family, friends, neighbors, church and community. If anyone needed any type of assistance, she was there to give a helping hand. Patience was one of her greatest attributes. She was a caring angel who involved herself in worthy causes so that others could always benefit. It was a joy to be in her presence because she was a sincere friend to mankind. A Time to Die: Patricia departed this life on February 19, 2014 at Trident Medical Center, Charleston, SC. A Time to Mourn: She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her precious memories: her father, Edwin "Shing" Toomer; her siblings, Geneva Toomer and Gary (Pearly) Toomer; one nephew, Cedric Sean Toomer; one grandnephew, Daivontae Howard; two aunts, Georgia Mae Washington and Ruth Blanding; cousins: Ann Rodell, Bernard (Diane), Lennett, Tyrone, Jerry (Lucretia), Lavern (Michael), Alonzo, Debra, Ava, Denise, Carolyn, Deloris, Marion and Michelle; a very special cousin and good friend, Keisha Washington; good friends, Sarah Milligan and Arlene Milligan; devoted neighbors, The Honorable Joseph H. Jefferson, Jr. and Mrs. Deloris Jefferson and family; and a host of other family members and friends.
